Busanitextiles, understand who we are and what we do.

Word Definition: “Textile”

textile is a flexible material made by creating an interlocking network of yarns or threads. These are produced by spinning raw fibres (from either natural or synthetic sources) into long and twisted lengths. Textiles are then formed by weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting, tatting, felting, bonding or braiding these yarns together.

Simply put, the word “textile” is the art of making fabrics.

An important question we asked ourselves when we started our textiles firm, was “What is a textiles factory or firm?”

There are three different types of textile industries that exist:
  1. Textile Mill

A textile mill is a manufacturing facility. Different types of fibers such as yarn or fabric are produced and processed into usable products. This could be apparel, sheets, towels, textile bags, and many more.

  1. Textile Product Mill

Industries in the textile product mills subsector group establishments that make textile products (except apparel). Alongside a few exceptions, processes used in these industries are generally cut and sew (i.e., purchasing fabric and cutting and sewing to make non apparel textile products, such as sheets and towels).

  1. Apparel Manufacturing Mill

An apparel manufacturing mill is a facility that uses processed fabrics and manufactures different types of apparel products. This type of textile mill focuses on the creating of finished goods ready to shipped to apparel retail outlets.

Another popular phrase in the South African Textiles Market is the term “CMT”

Well, this term is an acronym for “Cut, Make & Trim”. It’s a term that commonly used in the fashion industry when fashion designers and require an “apparel manufacturing mill”. This would be to produce and process their garments and products in bulk.

Thus the biggest demand our country faces is one of finished apparel and non apparel textiles goods.

Busanitextiles is a specialised textiles company with focuses in two distinct markets. Firstly, the Health Care Market. This has been conscious decision for us which stems from the covid-19 pandemic. Our country suffers from the lack of resources in the medical sector. Thus it is important for companies like ours with available resources to contribute to the fight of this deadly disease.

Secondly, we also specialise in the Education Market which involves producing school uniforms for schools. Our country has 25000 schools with more than 12 millions learners. It is fair to conclude that majority of these schools are based in townships or locations with minimal resources. Our mission is to become a well trusted and well known school uniform manufacturer. An outlet for school uniform retail outlets who provide uniforms in these poor areas.
